Holy Family is designated a May 30 & 31 pilgrimage site during national Eucharistic Pilgrimage
A National Pilgrimage:
Indianapolis to Los Angeles through Tulsa
Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa has been designated a pilgrimage site during the 2025 Eucharistic Pilgrimage, specifically along the St. Katharine Drexel Route from Indianapolis to Los Angeles.
The 2025 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, part of the broader National Eucharistic Revival, aims to rekindle devotion to the Blessed Sacrament across the United States. The Drexel Route, named in honor of St. Katharine Drexel, traverses multiple states, including Oklahoma, and incorporates significant Catholic sites along its path. Holy Family Cathedral’s inclusion in this route highlights its importance as a spiritual landmark, offering pilgrims a place for prayer, reflection, and communal worship.
The Route through Tulsa:
University of Tulsa and Churches of the Madalene, Christ the King, and Holy Family Cathedral
During the pilgrimage’s passage through Tulsa on May 30-31, 2025, a series of events are planned to facilitate Eucharistic encounters. These include a 5.5-mile public procession beginning at the University of Tulsa, with stops at the Church of the Madalene and the Parish of Christ the King, culminating at Holy Family Cathedral. Such events are designed to foster a deeper connection to the Eucharist among the faithful, reinforcing the cathedral’s role as a center for Eucharistic celebration.
Furthermore, Holy Family Cathedral’s designation aligns with the Diocese of Tulsa’s participation in the Jubilee Year of Hope, during which twelve pilgrim sites have been selected to encourage prayer and the integration of hope in the lives of the faithful. The cathedral’s inclusion in both the Eucharistic Pilgrimage and the Jubilee Year activities underscores its pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual growth of pilgrims and parishioners alike.
